St. John the Evangelist Church in Pittston was the beautiful setting on a crisp autumn day for yesterday's Fall Interfaith Memorial Service hosted by Hospice of the Sacred Heart. Everyone enjoyed the magnificent musical talents of Dan Simrell, Angela Burke and Mark Woodyatt.

CEO Diane Baldi welcomed those who assembled. Sarah Mountain offered an opening prayer and Dr. Frank A. Bucci, Jr., MD delivered a reading from 1 Corinthians. Fr. Alex Roche, Pastor at St. Maria Goretti Parish in Laflin, gave a meaningful and personal reflection. Those in attendance were then given the opportunity to go to the altar and say the name of their loved one. After a closing prayer by Deacon Patrick Massino, the group enjoyed light refreshments in the church basement.

Special thanks to Jennifer Seechock, Hospice Director of Counseling Services, and Victoria Jordan and Michelle Sherman, Hospice Bereavement Counselors, for their work organizing the event.
