Hospice of the Sacred Heart has provided more than 20 years of hospice care in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Hospice of the Sacred Heart was founded in May, 2003, thanks to the inspiration and motivation of Dr. Frank A. Bucci, Jr., MD.  Dr. Bucci reached out to Diane Baldi, RN, to join him in this endeavor. Together, they opened Hospice of the Sacred Heart in 2003 and one year later, in May, 2004, Hospice of the Sacred Heart was certified by Medicare and Medicaid as a hospice program. Dr. Bucci currently serves as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Mrs. Baldi is Chief Executive Officer.

This non-profit organization was originally located at 130 Wilkes-Barre Boulevard in Wilkes-Barre. Unprecedented growth occurred shortly afterwards and the agency continued to prosper to the point where care was provided for more than 1,300 patients in 2020. The organization’s main office is now at 30 E.D. Preate Drive in Moosic and an Inpatient Unit located in Dunmore.

Hospice of the Sacred Heart is a member of the Scranton Chamber of Commerce and is very proud to be accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP).
